Hybrid Heating

What is Hybrid Heating?

Most homeowners in London have a natural gas furnace and central air conditioning to keep their home comfortable year round.

A hybrid heating system is designed to heat your home as efficiently as possible. Instead of using a traditional air conditioner, a hybrid system uses an electric air-source heat pump. The electric heat pump will heat your home when temperatures are moderate and electricity rates are low. When the temperature really drops, or at times when electricity rates are at their peak, the system automatically switches to your natural gas furnace.

Your home will also be cooled more efficiently in the summer by the heat pump.

When your heat pump is keeping you warm, you are reducing your carbon footprint and lowering your gas bill. During the coldest days, your natural gas furnace is still the most economical way to keep your home warm and cozy. A smart thermostat controls your hybrid system, to make sure you are keeping your home comfortable, the most economic way.
